Solicitor Advocate (Civil)
Claims and Litigation Manager
I was admitted as a solicitor in November 1993.
Following several years as an assistant solicitor and then a Partner at Ewart Price Solicitors, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, where I was a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), and a member of the Law Society and then the SRA specialist Personal Injury Panels, I formed Broadgate Legal in January 2010.
I have retained my membership of APIL and the practice is also a member of the Motor Accident Solicitors Society (MASS).
Broadgate Legal predominantly acts for claimants who have been injured due to negligence or breach of statutory duty, but we also conduct employment and immigration work, and have capacity to handle Wills, Probate and General Litigation.
Broadgate Legal is intentionally distinct from a typical law practice, in that we encourage initiative and independence among our colleagues, and many of the fee earners work with a personal client base, and operate remotely from external locations, using the best in modern digital information technology so as to reduce overheads, and give the practice a truly national presence.
We provide services among a wide range of demographics and, with our translation associates, we offer legal advice and assistance to a varied client base, in a number of languages, which include Bulgarian, Romanian, Russian, Polish, and Lithuanian.
In our own offices we have colleagues who speak Portuguese, Urdu, Gujerati, Hindi, Punjabi, and Bengali.
I am proud to have had a part in the creation of a truly unique legal practice, and, together with my colleagues, I do my best to ensure that we continue to provide our clients with the best possible legal services and representation.

Solicitor Advocate (Civil)
I qualified, and joined Broadgate Legal Solicitors, as a solicitor in March 2016, having undertaken my training contract at Levenes Solicitors. I Spent the bulk of my training contract working in personal injury and have continued to work as a personal injury solicitor with Broadgate Legal.
I deal with a wide range of personal injury matters, with a particular interest in employers’ and public liability claims. Through supporting senior solicitors, I have gained extensive experience in both complex and high value cases, and have been credited with achieving a settlement of £119,000.00 for a former client. Having undertaken the higher rights advocacy course, I am also highly competent when acting for Claimants at hearings.
Additionally I also have a good understanding of costs and employment law.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football and watching general knowledge quiz shows, my favourite being The Chase.
I am bilingual in English and in Portuguese.
Meu time de futebol favorito é Arsenal.
I have an extensive background in serious personal injury and industrial disease work. I have particular expertise in the areas of employers’ liability, public liability and complex claims.
I graduated in Law from Warwick University and subsequently obtained a diverse range of personal injury experience at several market-leading firms. I qualified in 1995 and have worked continuously in serious injury claims ever since. Alongside my injury work, I have frequently undertaken a number of other successful matters in employment law, general civil litigation and family/child care.
My practice includes the following areas:
My primary focus is on helping individual injured claimants try to rebuild their lives and I never act for defendants. I deal with all matters personally from start to finish.
I was appointed a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel of specialists in 2001 and there is not much I have not come across before. I aim to guide clients through what is often a maze of complexity towards a successful outcome by taking a methodical approach and leaving no stone unturned in the investigation process.
Industrial disease work, in particular, throws up numerous challenges including limitation period and date of knowledge (original exposure often having taken place many years in the past); identifying multiple potential defendants together with their insurers on risk; tracing successor companies and/or insurers for historic claims and confirming whether a TUPE transfer has taken place. Dissolved companies also have to be restored to the Companies Register before the claim can be concluded.
I am an expert in the Court litigation process itself, should it come to that, as I have litigated cases to trial wherever needed throughout my career.
Although my core practice remains in the fields of personal injury, industrial disease and clinical negligence, I also happily accept instructions in more general litigation, including dispute resolution, professional negligence and contested probate matters. I aim to offer affordable, flexible solutions for clients in cases where no-win-no-fee is not possible and legal aid is not available. For example, I can offer to act as a so-called “McKenzie friend” by accompanying clients to Court and providing informal support for a number of different areas including family work and Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal work.
I am happy to be a part of such a modern and progressive law firm which makes full use of state-of-the-art technology and a centralised, market-leading case management system to ensure that every case is regularly progressed. Unlike in many so-called factory firms, every client receives individual attention. The firm is also very well adapted to the needs of a changing world and legal marketplace whilst making good use of opportunities for innovation not possible 20 years ago.
I completed my training contract and was admitted as a solicitor in 2014. Shortly after qualifying I joined Broadgate Legal.
I have expertise in the following, but not limited to:
At present I work closely with the practice principal on highly contentious litigation matters and also on a number of large catastrophic loss claims.
I joined Broadgate Legal in March 2017 having met Mark Fowler regularly at the regional Motor Accident Solicitor Society Meetings. I was impressed with the vision and drive that Mark has for Broadgate Legal and by coming in as an experienced Operations Manager I know I can help streamline the practice even further.
I began dealing in personal injury claims as far back as 1990 on the defendant side but switched to a claimant role in 1998, initially as a Fee Earner but soon promoted to a Manager.
As well as dealing with personal injury claims myself, I am responsible for overseeing the growth of the debt recovery arm of the firm. As the title suggests, I am very involved in the day to day issues that arise and regularly meet with suppliers and clients on a face to face basis, both in London and in the Medway Towns where I am based.
Away from the office, I can usually be found in a football stadium or on a fairway, often with the same disbelieving face.
I joined Broadgate Legal Solicitors in February 2020 as a paralegal, providing bilingual legal services to our Portuguese-speaking clients in areas such as work accidents, trips and slips, road traffic injuries, accidents involving animals and clinical negligence.
I am a qualified lawyer in Brazil, where I practiced civil and employment law from 2011 to 2018. I am currently studying towards the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme (QLTS), in order to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales.
After graduating in law in 2008 I worked in politics, first as an adviser to a Member of Parliament of the State of Bahia (Brazil) and later as an electoral campaign manager. Between 2015 and 2018 I was a Lecturer in Environmental Law and Course Coordinator for the BA in Law at the Don Pedro II University in Salvador de Bahia. I continue to be involved in academia as a member of the Bahian research group on Development, Society and Nature.
At Broadgate Legal Solicitors I take pride in being part of a team that is committed to offering an excellent service to each and every client. We employ the most advanced technology available in the market to manage cases, offering our clients an agile and efficient service.
In my free time I love spending time outdoors, hiking, cycling and kayaking.
