Wills and Powers of Attorney

Wills and Powers of Attorney

Wills

When you meet with our specialist Will lawyer you will be given expert advice about planning for the future and ensuring your estate is distributed as you would wish. We will draft a detailed will giving you specialist advice on appointing executors, administration of your estate, and mitigating inheritance tax.

It is important to ensure that your Will is drafted effectively to minimise the inheritance tax implications on your estate. If you die without making a will, the intestacy rules will apply which means that your estate could be distributed in a way that is contrary to your personal wishes.

We can provide home visits if it is difficult for you to attend our offices. Please contact us for further information.

Power of Attorney

We recommend that you have an LPA drawn up whilst you are physically and mentally able to make decisions. There are two types of LPA’s, Financial and Property affairs and Health and Welfare.

We will take your instructions and create a Power of Attorney according to your wishes. We will submit the application to the Office of Public Guardian on your behalf.

Having a Power of attorney can assist a donor in the event that he/she needs an attorney to pay bills on their behalf or if they are unable to make decisions about their health. A Power of Attorney can be created and registered (with the Office of Public Guardian) and can be used when it is needed in the future.
